Sonshine Preschool Academy is a mission of Faith Lutheran Church as a community outreach and service to those in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and the surrounding area. We are dedicated to providing quality, Christ-centered education to three and four-year-olds in a Christian environment.

Mission Statement

We believe each child is a blessing from the Lord, with unique, God-given gifts and abilities. Our Academy focuses on each child’s personal development: spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional We believe hat the first few years of a child’s life create the foundation for all later learning.

Certification and Policies

Son Shine Academy preschool is a State Licensed Christian Kindergarten readiness program. Our Sonshine Academy Staff Handbook lists all our policies in full detail as required by the state. Parents are welcome to see our staff handbook at any time for more information regarding any policy or to see the book in its entirety. Just ask the director to see the staff handbook.

Staff

All staff participates in Early Childhood Professional Conference through Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Iowa District East, which ensures continued betterment, growth, and quality of the program. Scholarships are available through the Son Shine Academy Board based on need.

Classes

• 4/5 PreK class — Meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-12:00

• Morning 3yr. old class — Meets Tuesday, Thursday from 3:30-11:30

• Afternoon 3yr. old class — Meets Tuesday, Thursday from 12:30-3:30
