Choir
Our choir practices every Tuesday evening beginning at 6:30. Twice a month, between Labor Day and Memorial day, the choir sings in the worship service. Come join us in making a joyful noise unto the Lord! Contact Sandy Speidel for more information.
LWML
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an international organization of societies within local congregations. The primary purpose of the LWML is to assist in the great work of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ into the world. LWML works to educate, strengthen, and motivate women of all ages both in Gospel outreach and faith-sharing, as well as preparing future leaders.
Our LWML chapter meets once a month.
The LWML funds its mission projects through the MiteBox and thank offerings. The Mite Box is based on the story of the widow’s mite in Luke 21:1 – 4 where it is recorded that “she gave everything she had.” Members often place pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and even more in their Mite Box each day. Together with the thank offerings, tens of millions of dollars have been given as mission grants since 1942.
Old Threshers
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
MISSION STATEMENT
Faith Lutheran Church operates this food service in support of the community of Mount Pleasant and The Old Threshers Reunion using members and friends of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Volunteers work to build relationships within our church families during this time and show visitors to our pavilion the true faith in Christ that we share. The proceeds generated are distributed to various missions.
The Midwest Old Threshers Reunion is an annual five-day event in Mount Pleasant beginning on the Wednesday before Labor Day. Faith Lutheran serves food each year and is known far and wide for its homemade beef and noodles. Volunteers work together to provide lunch and dinner meals, including over 3,500 servings of beef and noodles, for thousands of visitors and exhibitors attending Old Threshers each year. Proceeds are used to support mission opportunities in our church, our community, and our state, plus national and international mission projects. Contact Jeremy Andreasen for more information.
Music
Do you play and instrument or sing? Consider offering your gift for others to hear during our worship services. We are always looking for instrumentalists and singers to enhance our hymns and provide incidental music. Contact Shari Moeller for more information.
